“Asian American podcast”: Duties & Possibilities
Show Notes

When you find us on Instagram, you'll notice our Instagram name is "Asian American podcast👩🏻👩🏻."

If you've been a regular listener, you'll know that our tagline is "a space where two Asian American women share the underrepresented perspectives that shape our lifelong journey of learning and unlearning."

In this episode, we're revisiting these names and descriptions that we had carefully selected for ourselves and unpacking what it even means to be an Asian American podcast.

  • What are the duties and responsibilities that we feel come with the label "Asian American podcast?"
  • How has our involvement in digital Asian American communities shaped our understanding of "the Asian American community" and the meaning of that label?
  • How have our thoughts on representation and our role as creators in representation evolved?
  • How else can we expand the possibilities of podcasting as 2 East Asian straight cis-gendered women?
  • Amidst all this wondering, how are we choosing to shape our podcast, something that we have been co-creating for over 2 years now?

We hope you'll enjoy this candid, honest conversation of what's been on our minds as we reflect on our journeys as hosts & producers of bamboo & glass. ✨Thanks for being on this journey with us. ✨
